Six Months of Bloggin’

So six months ago I launched this blog project called  (Pretty creative naming, am I right?).  I had no idea what I was doing.  But now…NOW I’m a seasoned….okay, I still have no idea what I’m doing.

However, I learn something new almost everyday……and THAT is why the project continues.

And so it begins…

I’d like to personally thank all the readers over the last six months for their loyalty.  I mean it….both of you are very special to me.  (I get a lot of mileage out of that joke.)

Here are some statistics that I find very surprising.  They are not the kind of numbers that threaten to break the internet but they are a good start!

I’ve had readers in about half of the United States, 18 countries and 6 continents.  (What exactly is the problem Antarctica?)  I’ve had close to 1,200 users, 3,400 sessions and 7,300 page views.

I’ve written 78 posts and received 241 comments.

Every website I see now has less mystery behind it than it did the day before and often inspires additional questions and avenues for learning.

When I started I listed these three broad, vague goals:

  • Diversion
  • Stimulation
  • Discussion

Check, check and check.  I am right on schedule so the project will continue…and it’s your fault.

Both of you.  😉

  1. I value the stimulating, thought provoking topics with each new post. Often, your topic is right on queue for something relevant for me that very day! A few times, I’ve exclaimed “I was just thinking about this last night!” And these are topics I don’t discuss on a daily basis, so in a sense, you make me feel not so alone in this world.

On another note, I’ve been struggling for days on your poll question of which 1st Amendment Right is least important. Hard to imagine having freedom without one or all the 3 you listed.

  2. Thank you for the kind words! I am particularly interested in your take on the poll question. I fashioned it purposely to put the reader in an uncomfortable position. I hear a lot of complaining about the press, religious expression, speech boycotts. So I thought I’d try to get folks to quantify their preferences for one over the other. Then it took me about three days to make a choice. I chose…oh wait, is that the doorbell? Gotta go! 😉

  3. Hey KC, count me as # 3. The world is just learning about the wisdom that comes out of that uncapped head of yours. I’m the lucky one because I’ve known of this wit since 2/1985. Does that mean I’m getting old, no just that I’ve had a witty friend for a hell of a long time. Keep up the good Blogs coming my friend. To those who only know of Ken on Social Media, you’re missing a great friend.

  4. Congrats Ken! I haven’t helped out much on the discussion end of things, but I appreciate you sharing your thoughts with us!

Tough choice on your current poll! For me, Freedom of Speech is no-brainer. And then Freedom of the Press is probably next. But while I currently identify as agnostic, and feel very strongly about the first two, I can’t bring myself to vote against Freedom of Religion and all that suggests, either. I’ll think on it for few days, like you.
